About Bridges

Mission Statement

Bridges provides a comprehensive range of outpatient mental health, addiction, community support and home-based services for children, families and adults, residing in Milford, Orange, West Haven and their surrounding communities.

Bridges is where the community turns for help, hope and recovery.

Credentials

  • Designated the Local Mental Health Authority for Milford, Orange, West Haven and the surrounding communities by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services
  • Licensed by the Connecticut Department of Children and Families to provide children’s outpatient mental health services
  • Licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health to provide mental health and addiction services to children and adults
  • Awarded accreditation for clinical outpatient programs, community support services and residential programs by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitative Facilities (CARF)

Jim couldn't hold a job and was a loner. A lifelong battle with mental illness had made him belligerent and suspicious. Bridges helped stabilize him with therapy and medication. Jim now lives in his own apartment, has made friends and has a part time job. His aging parents no longer worry about the time when they may be unable to care for him.

 

In June 2007, the Agency received CARF’s three-year accreditation for the programs submitted for review:

  • Case Management/Services Coordination: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (Adults)
  • Community Housing: Integrated: AOD/MH (Adults)
  • Community Housing: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (Adults)
  • Community Integration: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (Adults)
  • Outpatient Treatment: Integrated: AOD/MH (Adults)
  • Outpatient Treatment: Integrated: AOD/MH (Children and Adolescents)
